I just finished reading The Second Sister, Part 1, and I have to say that it was an absolute page-turner! As a first-time reader of your work, I was instantly drawn into the eerie atmosphere, the unsettling tension, and the layered suspense. The way you build dread and curiosity is masterful, and I found myself completely hooked.
I can't wait to dive into Part 2 and see how Lily’s discoveries unfold. I have my suspicions but I'll just have to wait and see! Your writing is gripping, immersive, and truly a joy to experience. 💯
Also, I wanted to thank you for subscribing to my Substack. I really appreciate your support! Looking forward to engaging more with your storytelling and sharing creative insights.
Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback. I appreciate the time it takes to engage with pieces, and how its difficult to manage sometimes (even when they are something you really enjoy). I deal with the struggle daily, so I am extra appreciative when someone takes the time to be so thorough. Thank you!
John, I just finished the first part of "The Second Sister," and it got me in its clutches very quickly. You build suspense really well and your use of description is excellent. Lily is a great character to drop into this extremely creepy situation. Her personality and her 'callousness' makes her very vulnerable to whatever malevolent secret lies in that house and that basement. I'll be eager to read part 2. Thank you.
Okay, I'm hooked! You've set the scene so well. Dutiful daughter, sad old house belonging to a sad old deceased aunt. An upstairs littered with junk and covered in grime. And then the downstairs with that nursery!! 😱😱😱 Headed on to the second part!
WhAt?! Holy cow this is phenomenal! You have perfected the mic drop ending and I am SO invested!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy Part 2! (Not sure if this is what you shouted out, but going to listen now and find out. TIA!)
It is! I'm working on the next part for Ophiocordyceps and then I'll be reading part two! I'm SO excited!
Certified creepy.
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback. 🤘
Absolutely spellbinding. The atmosphere, pacing, and mounting dread are pitch-perfect — I felt every dusty breath and creaking floorboard.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are my smile for the day. 😊
Aaah! What a cliff-hanger! I raced through this on the edge of my seat. Part Two, here I come!
Thank you! Enjoy!
This is so good! Can't wait to read Part 2!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the conclusion.

So far, so very good. That ending was torturously timed.
