Your writing style is really engaging and it kept me entertained. You write so well and now I wanna read your other stories. Keep writing, fellow horror writer!
Thank you! I had fun with Grumps! A little "behind-the-scenes," Grumps was inspired by Mr. Toad from Disney's Ichabod and Mr. Toad (yes, among many other things, I am a Dis-nerd. LOL). And his silence can be taken many ways. I think he was just gracefully bowing out, feeling like his job was done, especially after Sterling's "shedding of old skin" with the hat. Thanks for reading, and sharing!
Thank you! It was an experiment into a style I love reading but have never written. It was a blast to write, and I'm happy to see folks enjoying it. :)
Haha, I love how you managed to shift your voice and tone for this piece. It's always the sign of a capable writer when they can leap into another genre without missing a beat. As others have said, that opening paragraph was brilliant, and the comedy was on point throughout. Loved this one!
Thanks! I'm glad my "pitch" paragraph was effective. It's funny, I probably spent more time on that and the ending than the rest of the story, which just flowed. I think this style of comedy/satire lends well to my newfound love for writing without limits (I think I mentioned this on my dive into dark fantasy). In a world where frogs can speak, it's really easy (and fun) to write.
L.G. I haven't finished the whole story, but I will. I just had to quickly tell you that your opening paragraph is one of the best I've read in a very long time. It's funny, it's clever and the Earl Gray is the perfect touch. Bravo!
Thank you! Earl Grey is my fave, so it's kind of synonymous with "tea," for me. I had a very detailed mental image of that scene: the tea, the eyebrow raise, and the pith helmet. Yes, cliche, but that was kind of the intent. Haha! Cheerio!

I love Grumps! 😂
I do have a question about his silence at the end, was he actually unable to speak or was he just pretending?
This is a fantastic story, it's so fun and like Bradley said, the tone change is extremely well done!

I love that lol
Oh okay! Good! I thought maybe the magic of the swamp got taken for a second 😅
Effortless & so fun! I love this one. Fantastic 🙌❣️

I stopped counting after 12 penis references but I did thoroughly enjoy the journey.
Who's counting? 🤣 Thank you for reading and the feedback! Both are genuinely appreciated. ❤️
Enjoyed the swamp
Thank you!
This was highly entertaining! Grumps was an amazing character, he reminded me of the Cheshire Cat somehow haha. Really enjoyed this :)
