This was such an awesome article, L.G.! As someone who is looking to hire an editor once my current WIP is finished, this was insanely informative. I really liked the interview structure you took with the article.
I have to call out that phenomenal art you did as well! Amazing detail, and you really captured the Red Dead Redemption art style perfectly. Loved this piece!
Thanks! I was inspired by how liberating the whole experience was. After sharing those thoughts with Ana I decided my story must be told [insert dramatic sfx] 😉
Like I told someone in the chat just a bit ago, I don't intend for this to be a full-on pitch, but I highly recommend Ana, and if you tell her I sent you, she'll probably... probably sigh and say, "Oh no, not another one." 🤣🤣🤣
Glad you liked the RDR themeing, so funny that was the topic yesterday.
Haha, yeah, I read this as more of a behind-the-scenes look into how editing works for authors and less of a pitch, so in my mind, it was an informative article first and foremost!
That being said, I personally really liked how Ana approached the process, and that's important to me in choosing an editor to work with. So, you managed to impress not only the author in me, but the side of me that works in marketing as well. 🤣
This was a very good read and has amazing tips for new writers. I recently did the same as an editor offered a free 500 words and it was an amazing experience. I was nervous as well but I found it to be much more collaborative and comforting afterwards, and not only that but they identified the flaws that I couldn’t quite grasp.
